Day 1: Nairobi to AA Lodge Amboseli
8:00 AM: Departure from Nairobi
Begin your adventure with a comfortable drive from Nairobi to AA Lodge Amboseli. The journey will take around 4-5 hours, offering scenic views along the way. As you travel, enjoy the ever-changing landscape from the bustling city of Nairobi to the tranquil savannah plains.
1:00 PM: Arrival at AA Lodge Amboseli
Upon arrival, check-in and enjoy a warm welcome from the lodge staff. AA Lodge is renowned for its incredible location, just on the edge of Amboseli National Park, offering stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the wildlife that roams the area.
1:30 PM: Lunch at the Lodge
Savor a delicious buffet lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients at the lodge’s restaurant.
3:30 PM: Afternoon Game Drive
After lunch, embark on your first afternoon game drive within Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for its large herds of African elephants, as well as stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Keep an eye out for the Big Five, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of bird species.
6:30 PM: Return to AA Lodge
Return to the lodge as the sun sets. Relax and unwind by the lodge’s sundowner area, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink while taking in the breathtaking views of the park and its wildlife.
7:30 PM: Dinner at the Lodge
Enjoy a sumptuous dinner at the lodge, with a variety of international and local dishes to choose from.
9:00 PM: Evening Leisure or Optional Night Safari
After dinner, you can opt for some leisure time by the lodge or take part in a night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2: Amboseli Exploration & Return to Nairobi
6:00 AM: Early Morning Game Drive
Rise early for a morning game drive, a fantastic time to spot wildlife at their most active. The early hours provide an opportunity to see predators on the hunt and herds of elephants as they roam the plains.
8:00 AM: Breakfast at the Lodge
Return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast after the morning game drive. Enjoy an array of options ranging from continental to traditional African breakfasts.
9:30 AM: Visit to a Maasai Village (Optional)
After breakfast, you have the option to visit a nearby Maasai village. This provides a unique opportunity to learn about the Maasai culture, traditions, and way of life. You’ll be welcomed with a traditional dance, and you can even purchase handmade crafts.
11:30 AM: Check-Out and Departure
After visiting the Maasai village (if chosen), it’s time to check-out from the lodge and begin your return journey to Nairobi.
3:30 PM: Arrival in Nairobi
